There is a new, earlier, non-invasive test for Down syndrome and Trisomy 18, with 90% accuracy in its detection of Down’s.  The screening is a combination of a blood test and highly specialized ultrasound. Hunterdon Diagnostics is the first and only practice in Hunterdon County whose registered sonographers are accredited to offer this early genetic screening. The test, known as Nuchal Translucency, is ideally performed at 12 weeks, and cannot be done after 14 weeks.  The key is early detection.
